Rolls-Royce to show off customizations in Paris
If you like your bling with an extra side of bling, line up at the Rolls-Royce stand at the Paris Auto Show next week.
The automaker will be showing off five personalized Rolls vehicles with unique colors and interiors.
The extended wheelbase Phantom will come in gunmetal metallic (the Grey Poupon of gray) with a "sunrise" leather interior.
Rolls-Royce wants you to know that despite its success with the "more approachable" Ghost (MSRP: $245,000), they haven't lowered the luxury bar or gone downmarket.
"Ghost is a more approachable "Rolls-Royce" that is bringing an entirely new type of customer to the Rolls-Royce brand," said CEO Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes said in a press statement. "But in Paris we are also demonstrating how we continue to strengthen our position as the pinnacle luxury brand, thanks to the enduring appeal of Phantom family and the depth of our bespoke personalization service."
To prove its point, the company will display a handful of commissioned Rolls-Royces at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. On display will be a Phantom Extended Wheelbase, a Phantom Coupe, a Phantom Drophead Coupe, and two Ghosts that demonstrate the type of customization requests it regularly fields from its tony customer base.
The photos show the Phantom Extended Wheelbase's mother-of-pearl instrument dial centers, clock faces, and inlaid door trims, and personalized tread plates
The Paris Motor Show will be the place for Rolls Royce to showcase their extensive individualization programme. Apart from the customized look, the Phantom Extended Wheelbase will feature a seat piping, mother of pearl centres to white instrument dials, control dials and clock face, Rolls-Royce monogram embroidery in all head restraints and personalized tread plates inscribed with Mondial de l’Automobile Paris 2010.
