2011 volkswagen cc reviews

the Volkswagen CC competes with entry-level sport sedans, such as the Audi A4, Cadillac CTS, and Lexus IS.

Like the CC, the Maxima is a dressed-up, more fashionable sedan based on a mainstream one (the Altima, in the Maxima's case).

Volkswagen CC in United States is also known as Volkswagen Passat CC. Volkswagen CC is a 4 door Coupe model of Passat. Volkswagen Passat CC is categorized between Volkswagen Phaeton and Volkswagen Passat.

Volkswagen CC 2.0T Lux trim is added with some advanced accessories like 18 inch alloy wheels, dual zone climate control, fog lights, brushed aluminum interior trim and navigation system.
2011 Volkswagen CC is offered with two type of engine. Volkswagen CC VR6 4Motion is armored with 3.6 L capacity V6 engine and mated with all wheel drive channel.

Body Styles

The 2011 Volkswagen CC is a four-passenger sedan that is offered in five trim levels. Starting with the base 2.0T Sport, standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing windshield wipers, full power accessories, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, cruise control, air-conditioning, a trip computer, hill-hold assist, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with multifunction controls, leatherette premium vinyl upholstery, 12-way adjustable front seats and split-folding rear seats. The 2.0T Lux trim augments the Sport model by adding 18-inch alloy wheels, foglights, dual-zone climate control, brushed aluminum interior trim and a navigation system. The VR6 4Motion Executive trim features a more powerful V6 engine and all-wheel drive, along with polished 18-inch wheels, headlight washers, heated outside mirrors, steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles, a power rear sunshade, parking sensors, driver seat memory, leather sport seats and a premium 10-speaker audio system.

The 2011 "Volkswagen CC" offers buyers the choice of two powertrains: front-wheel drive with a turbocharged inline-4 and all-wheel drive with a V6. Sport trim models come standard with a six-speed manual transmission, while a six-speed automated manual transmission (DSG) is available as an option. Other trim levels featuring the 2.0-liter turbo are only offered with the DSG automatic. The EPA estimates fuel economy for the DSG automatic at 22 mpg city/31 mpg highway and 25 mpg in combined driving.

All Volkswagen CCs come standard with antilock disc brakes (with brake assist), stability and traction control, hill-hold assist, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags. Last year's optional rear-seat side airbags have been discontinued.

It received five stars for front-passenger side crash protection and four stars for rear-passenger side protection.

2011 Volkswagen Touareg review

Face-lifted once since its 2002 born-on date, the VW Touareg is set for a full redesign for 2011. This saves about 400 pounds, which when combined with its increased body rigidity, should substantially sharpen on-pavement performance.

Volkswagen's first-ever production hybrid is based on a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 augmented by a battery-powered electric motor. Outside the new Touareg appears tauter and edgier, with more pronounced character lines and wheel arches. Early first-drive results reveal that the reworked 2011 Volkswagen Touareg has not only taken its place alongside contemporary rivals like Acura's MDX and BMW's X5, it also appears to have what it takes to compete against cutting-edge hybrid rivals like the Lexus RX 450h and Mercedes ML450 Hybrid.

The 2011 Volkswagen Touareg ranks 1 out of 17 Luxury Midsize SUVs. Redesigned for 2011, the Volkswagen Touareg boasts a sharp new exterior, a luxurious and more spacious cabin, and an all-new hybrid model.

Though it’s significantly improved, the "2011 Touareg" is expected to cost about the same as the previous model. Though the base model is the cheapest, reviewers largely recommend its hybrid and diesel counterparts instead. The base Touareg’s 16/23 mpg city/highway rating is in the middle of the class. But while the base Volkswagen Touareg has some flaws, don’t entirely discount it.

If you’re considering the Touareg Hybrid, it’s also worth it to look at the RX 450h hybrid. Its 32/28 fuel economy rating is the best in its class, and the RX starts at about $8,000 less than the Touareg Hybrid.

As part of its redesign, the Touareg has lost its permanent four-wheel drive system. The 2011 Volkswagen Touareg comes in three trims: the base VR6 FSI, the diesel-powered TDI, and the all-new Hybrid. If you prefer the old Touareg, don’t despair.

There is a conventional gasoline V-6 (3.6-liter, 280-horsepower) unit, the clean-diesel 3.0-liter V-6 TDI that makes 225 horsepower, and then the new Hybrid, which combines a supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 with an electric traction motor for total power of 380 horsepower.

All three Touareg models use a new eight-speed automatic transmission. The Touareg Hybrid ain't light, and it feels every bit of its weight on the road.

The 2011 Volkswagen Touareg V6 TDI has a 3.0-liter diesel engine that outputs 176 kW / 240 PS and 550 Nm of torque.

2012 Passat and new Beetle,Volkswagen's Super Bowl spots

Volkswagen's Super Bowl spots, featuring the all-new Beetle and the 2012 Passat, have already garnered significant buzz. In an unorthodox twist, Volkswagen's post-game Web strategy is to move on from its Super Bowl ads, directing viewers to a new "Inside the Academy" ad starring Saturday Night Live's Bill Hader that will break Monday.

Volkswagen will run a YouTube home page takeover Monday with the new ad posted in the masthead unit. After it plays, viewers are taken to a page hosting previous Inside the Academy videos and the two Super Bowl TV spots.
During the game Sunday, Volkswagen will play previously released Inside the Academy videos on ESPN Mobile, where it also purchased a home page takeover.

Yesterday, Volkswagen leaked a Super Bowl ad for the 2012 Passat on YouTube. In this incredibly clever ad, a kid dressed as Darth Vader walks around his house trying to use "The Force" while the powerful Star Wars score plays.

The ad hints at the silhouette of the redesigned New Beetle — but does not go beyond what was shown last fall on The Oprah Winfrey Show. The Passat ad is said to draw on the "emotional heritage of Star Wars," according to Volkswagen. A child dressed up as Darth Vader unsuccessfully practices summoning up The Force on the family washing machine, the dog and a baby doll. The ad is accompanied by "The Imperial March," the stirring music from the Star Wars movies.

2011 vw Jetta prices in European markets

The new Jetta slots between the Golf and Passat sizewise and with a range of highly efficient TSI and TDI engines, it has the perfect recipe for European taste. The car also gets dual-clutch transmissions (DSG) which you don’t usually see in a car of this price range.

Now measuring 4.64 metres in length (+ 9.0 cm) it is closing the gap between the Golf (4.20 metres) and Passat (4.77 metres) more precisely in Europe. As noted, the Trendline version of the Jetta 1.2 TSI costs 20,900 euros. The base price of the Jetta 1.6 TDI Trendline with BlueMotion Technology is 23,475 euros. Other power levels: a TDI with 103 kW / 140 PS and (following over the course of the year) three TSIs with 90 kW / 122 PS, 118 kW / 160 PS and 147 kW / 200 PS. All engines except the 105 PS TSI may be combined with an optional dual-clutch transmission (DSG).

The new Jetta measures 4.64 meters (183 inch) in length, which means an additional 9 cm (3.54 inch) when compared to the previous generation, closing the gap between the Golf (4.20 metres / 165 inch) and Passat (4.77 metres / 188 inch) in the European market.

The base price of the Jetta 1.6 TDI Trendline with BlueMotion Technology is EUR23,475.
Moving on, the Comfortline (starting at EUR22,600) adds 8-way adjustment of driver and front passenger seats, the RCD 210 radio-CD system, a Chrome Pack a Small Leather Pack (leather-trimmed steering wheel, gearshift grip and parking brake grip), 16-inch, 5-spoke “Navarra” alloy wheels, and the Park Pilot assistance system.

2011 Detroit Auto Show vw Passat for United States

on the 2011 Detroit Auto Show stage, Volkswagen is unveiling a Passat developed specifically for the United States. Starting in mid-August, it will be available at North American dealers with an entry-level price in the 20,000 dollar range – larger, more comfortable and more efficient than ever.

Inside, it offers generous space. Volkswagen of America will offer the new Volkswagen in the three equipment lines S, SE and SEL. The saloon is also friendly to the environment. The Clean Diesel (TDI) with 103 kW / 140 PS attains a fuel economy of 43 miles per gallon! Other powertrain options: a 125 kW/ 170 PS five cylinder gasoline engine and a six cylinder engine with 206 kW / 280 PS.

Despite drawing on the looks that Europeans are familiar with, every external panel is new with subtle changes to the window line, rear lights, bootlid and bumper as well as restyled doors and front wings. The US Passat is 99mm longer and 13mm wider than the European version and will sell for about £13,000.
The range-topping engine will be a 3.6-litre unit producing 276bhp.
With the Passat now a reality, Chattanooga reporters could turn their attention to the rest of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit’s Cobo Hall.

This event was like O’Reilly’s World of Wheels on steroids. All the VW executives were there, as were the political elite of the Chattanooga/Hamilton County area. When the name was first revealed on Sunday evening at the VW event, many from the Scenic City were not keen on retaining an old name for an “all-new” car. Many felt it should have carried a more Chattanooga name. The new Maserati lived up to its usual sleek, beautiful body, as did the model who stood next to the car. As for the Tesla, who would have ever thought of building a hybrid sports car in the class of the elite? A four-door Porsche? Given it has four doors, it was still one of the sleeker cars on the floor.

The first was built on an Explorer body and chassis and, in my opinion, gave much more flexibility than the old passenger car model of the CV. Given either, if Chattanooga possessed these and I had to pay for a take-home car, count me in. The model for Maserati took first place in her category. The Passat’s audio system is a new collaboration, exclusively built for Volkswagen. It carries the popular game’s logo on a mostly black vehicle.

VW Golf R come in US 2012

Volkswagen on Thursday said it is upping the ante with the Golf in the U.S. by bringing a version of the Europe-market Golf R here in 2012. It will be the fastest Golf production model ever sold the U.S., VW said.

The 2011 Subaru WRX STI starts at $34,720, including a $725 destination charge.
The 2011 Golf GTI's 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 200 horsepower. Other details include an upgraded sport-tuned suspension, unique 18-inch alloy wheels, unique steering wheel and interior trim, exterior R model badge and body kit, R model shift knob, R model door sills and front and rear fascia with dual exhausts.

Volkswagen AG announced its plans to introduce the Volkswagen Golf R in the United States for the 2012 model year which will be the successor to the 2004 and 2008 R32. Volkswagen is often credited with creating the original hot hatch in 1983 with its Golf-based GTI, and this latest performance hatchback model will only deepen the legacy of the famed GTI. For improved handling, the Golf R will feature a sport-tuned suspension, retuned stability control settings and larger brakes.

Up front, the Golf’s economy-minded appearance is given a more aggressive look thanks to a reworked fascia with oversize air inlets. The Golf R also has a lowered stance that is accented by the exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels that feature a stylish five triple-spoke design. Like the previous R32 models, the Golf R will also receive a center exit exhaust with dual chrome tips.
The U.S. hasn’t seen a high performance, all-wheel drive version of the Volkswagen Golf since 2008 when the R32 was discontinued.

The car employs a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, 4Motion all-wheel drive, and receives larger brakes and firmer suspension than the current GTI.”

While the Golf R employs the same size engine as the current Volkswagen GTI, expect a significant bump in horsepower. “While we enjoyed the energetic handling of the GTI Golf, the 200-hp turbo four-cylinder wasn’t the quickest in the segment,” says Cars.com. “The Golf R should correct that problem.”
In the market for a new car?

2011 VW Tiguan Reviews

The VW Tiguan's interior is a welcome departure from the plastic-trimmed cabin of the typical compact crossover. Even the VW Tiguan's road manners achieve a certain level of sophistication. The "VW Tiguan" styling cues place it somewhere between the larger VW Touareg SUV and smaller VW Golf hatchback. At the same time, the 2011 VW Tiguan comes up slightly short in terms of space and utility.

The 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan is a compact crossover SUV available in S, SE and SEL trim levels.
The SE adds 17-inch wheels, additional chrome exterior trim, foglights, a roof rack, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, heated washer nozzles, a power-adjustable driver seat, heated front seats, leatherette vinyl upholstery, a trip computer, a roof storage console and an upgraded touchscreen stereo with satellite radio and an iPod interface. The SEL 4Motion with Premium Navigation and Dynaudio option rounds off the Tiguan with all-wheel drive and an eight-speaker premium Dynaudio sound system. Options for all VW Tiguan models include a trailer hitch, side steps, a ground-effects kit of body pieces and 19-inch wheels.

The 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 that produces 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. All trim levels come standard with front-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is optional on the SE and SEL.

Standard equipment on the VW Tiguan includes antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags.

the all-wheel-drive Tiguan 4Motion came to a stop from 60 mph in 126 feet -- an average performance. In government crash testing, the 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan was awarded a perfect five stars in all front and side crash categories.

With the rear seats positioned as far forward as they'll go, the VW Tiguan can accommodate 23.8 cubic feet of cargo.

The 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan ranks 3 out of 24 Affordable Compact SUVs. Starting at $23,485, the 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan is one of the most expensive affordable compact SUVs. “The 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan offers a different flavor in a vanilla class by trading some practicality for a top-notch cabin and European driving manners," says Edmunds.

Second, the Tiguan uses premium fuel and has one of the lowest fuel economy ratings in the class. If you can pass on the Tiguan’s sporty driving dynamics, German nameplate and meager cargo room, there are plenty of affordable compact SUVs that will meet your needs. The Honda CR-V surpasses the Tiguan when it comes to cargo space and utility.

Volkswagen has been making its version of the compact SUV, the Volkswagen Tiguan. For an affordable compact SUV, the Volkswagen Tiguan has always done well for itself despite its higher price point.

Pricing: Pricing for the 2011 Tiguan is expected to be $24,585, which will remain similar to the 2010 model pricing.

Engine: The 2011 engine will be a turbocharged 2.0 liter inline-4 cylinder with 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque.
Transmission: The front wheel drive is controlled by a six speed manual or a six speed automatic with Tiptronic.

Car Safety Features: The Volkswagen Tiguan scored a perfect five out of five stars in 2010 across all frontal and side collision impact tests. Warranty: 3-year/36,000 miles
The 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan handles extremely well.

The Volkswagen Tiguan interior offers rear seats which move both backwards and forward for a full six inches in either direction. When the back seats are completely folded down, the Volkswagen Tiguan offers a roomy cargo space, but this is still smaller for the compact SUV class. Like with many good vehicles, the 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan has both pros and cons as well.

2012 Volkswagen Beetle on oprah

Volkswagen has decided to tease the 2012 Volkswagen Beetle on one of most watched daytime talk shows, The Oprah Winfrey Show. Everyone remembers the time Oprah Winfrey gave a Pontiac G6 to each audience member on her day time talk show. “During today’s Part Two of Oprah’s Ultimate Favorite Things show,” says Mother Proof, “Oprah and Santa gave everyone in the audience keys to their own 2012 Volkswagen New Beetle.”

“Volkswagen isn’t revealing what the newer New 2012 Volkswagen Beetle looks like. “Jonathan Browning, chief executive of VW North America, explained that Oprah had approached the company and said ‘the Beetle was one of her favorite things,’” the New York Times elaborates.
“Mr. Browning added that the Volkswagen Beetle would come with a TDI engine option, which would also be offered on the Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet. Even though Oprah’s audience and the public don’t know much about the newest new Volkswagen Beetle that’ll hit the market in May of next year, audience members did luck out this time. VW is paying the bills.

Volkswagen isn’t revealing what the newer New "Volkswagen Beetle looks like". The “Oprah” audience was allowed to see only a silhouette line of the car and Ms. Winfrey’s reaction to the design (in a video clip showing her as she saw the car for the first time). Oprah selected the Volkswagen Beetle as one of the items in her annual “Favorite Things” show, the second part of which aired on Monday. Ms. Winfrey will end “The Oprah Winfrey Show” next May and start her own cable channel, OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.

The new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle

2012 Volkswagen Beetle
The Volkswagen New Beetle was the cute car that started the retro-futurist design craze, which is still going strong.

The front-wheel-drive Volkswagen New Beetle is available as a two-door hatchback or a two-door convertible. Options include bigger wheels and a rear spoiler. Power comes from a 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine that makes 170 horsepower. Transmission choices are a standard five-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic.

From 1998-2005, the base engine was a 115-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Until recently, turbocharged gasoline engines have been a big part of the New Beetle's trim lineup. Sold from 1999-2006, the New Beetle 1.8T was powered by a 1.8-liter turbo four-cylinder, which put out 150 hp. Throughout the years, Volkswagen has released several special-edition models, including limited-edition colors and trim packages. The new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle is sleek, swift, and totally sophisticated. The new Beetle offers differing degrees of power, available in four different models – the Beetle GL, Beetle GLS, Beetle GLX, and Beetle Turbo S. We offer monthly updated information in our 2012 Volkswagen Beetle review as data emerges.

We plan to update our 2012 Volkswagen Beetle pictures, specs and links to 2012 Volkswagen accessories as well.

Beetle is the unique girly styled compact cars manufactured in the Volkswagen kingdom which is a German based auto manufacturing company. The first generation of Volkswagen Beetle came into picture a decade ago. Considering the amazing sale performance of previous versions of VW Beetle, Volkswagen is soon coming with a spectacular redesign to be recognized as 2012 Volkswagen Beetle.

The curved front looks more appealing with Volkswagen styled rounded headlamps. The compact car is additionally featured with heated seats, tilt – telescopic steering wheel, cruise control system, climate control system and sound system loaded with CD changer, MP3 player and satellite radio.

This assembly is considered as a base model of 2012 Beetle. The turbocharged 2.0 liter with TSI engine will be designed to produce 200 to 210 horsepower. All these engine versions work on front drive wheel mechanism. It is also suspected that 2012 Beetle will gain R version with the highest performer engine to generate 270 horsepower. The turbocharged engines from Volkswagen will come with automated dual clutch manual transmission.

The descent architecture of 2012 Volkswagen Beetle will appear in the market by spring of next year. The base model of 2012 Volkswagen Beetle is expected to get a price tag of around $18,900 with the advancement of prices associated with higher versions of 2012 Volkswagen Beetle.

2012 Volkswagen Eos La Auto Show 2010

it’s been almost a month we’re hearing about 2012 Volkswagen Eos. However, at 2010 LA Auto Show, the brand has released the complete details, images and the first video.

The "2012 Volkswagen Eos" will be available in four 4-cylinder engine options across Europe. Options include a 1.4 TSI with 122 PS, 1.4 TSI with 160 PS, 2.0 TSI with 200 PS and 210 PS and 2.0 TDI with 140 PS. In the US, however, 2012 Volkswagen Eos will be available in only 2.0-liter 16-valve DOHC turbocharged and intercooled four-cylinder gasoline engine that generates a 200 hp and 207 lbs-ft. of torque. The US engine option will offer 31 mpg fuel consumption on the highway.

Talking about the design side of new VW, 2012 Volkswagen Eos has a new front fascia, newly styled rear end, new headlights design, a front grille with three shiny black louvers, and two-part LED rear lights with fiber optics technology. Inside, there is new instrument panel, chrome-framed window buttons, walnut wood trim parts and a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel and shift knob.
Just a few weeks ago, Volkswagen of Australia revealed images and details of its newly refreshed VW Eos hardtop convertible. The automotive giant claims the 2012 Volkswagen Eos has been "perfected", and the first thing you'll notice about this car is the front and rear fascias, which suffered an alignment with VW's latest releases. Higher trim lines come with walnut wood inserts and "Vienna" leather seats.

The 2012 Volkswagen Eos is powered by the powerful and efficient 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The evening before any major auto shows usually means one thing: PARTY! With Cadillac hosting its own event, where they debuted the Urban Luxury Concept, Volkswagen was having its own soiree with the updated Volkswagen Eos.

Volkswagen Polo Review

The VW Polo is a very grown up supermini. Ride quality is excellent, with the softly suspended supermini smoothing out city centre bumps well. Steering is light and a little lacking in feel. Larger petrol units are better and diesels satisfyingly torquey, if a little rattly. Really, the extra pace of the Polo suits its long distance cruising ability well.

There is a huge range of engines, and later this year there will be a 150bhp 1.8-litre turbocharged GTI variant too, with plenty of Golf GTI styling cues. Generally, the other VW brands offer lower prices and a little more equipment.

As you would expect from Volkswagen, the new Volkswagen Polo has been making an impression and gathering awards all over the place; but the crowning glory came in November, when the "Volkswagen Polo" was awarded the 2010 European Car of the Year, title.

Origin With industry leading performance, practicality, fuel economy and standard safety features, the all-new 2010 Volkswagen Polo is by far the best European light-car on the market.

It was 1975 when Volkswagen introduced the original VW Polo which only came to Australia in 1996. Before the sporty and range-topping GTI arrives towards the end of this year, the new Polo is currently available in two separate equipement grades: the entry level Polo Trendline and the more equipped Polo Comfortline. Nope. Nope. Surprisingly no, even the base model Polo Trendline 3 Door 5 speed manual is relatively well equipped given it starts for under $17k.
The first Polo tested today was powered by the new 1.2-litre TSI engine with 77kW and 175Nm of torque. Swapping to a base model 1.4-litre petrol powered VW Polo with 14-inch steel wheels was a good way to test out the chasis.

The new VW Polo is bigger than its predecessor in all regards, it measures 4,064mm in length (148 mm longer), 1,682 mm wide (32 mm wider), and sits exactly 1.5 m tall (33 mm taller). Safety is top notch in the new Polo .

ally, it was 3,505mm long; 1,562mm wide and stood 1,334mm tall and by 1979 Volkswagen had produced over 500,000 of them, proving the small but well-built formula, works.

By comparison, today's Volkswagen Polo is 3,970mm long, 1,682mm wide and 1,462mm tall; so over the years it has grown a little. The Volkswagen Polo test car housed the 3-cylinder, 1.2 engine with the lower of two outputs: 60- or 70PS. The other petrol option is the 1.4, 4-cylinder unit that produces 85PS, while the diesel is a 1.6-litre common-rail engine, which is new to the VW Polo, with two power outputs of 75- or 90PS. The Volkswagen Polo has many fine qualities but generally, it was never built for speed or with sporty intentions so it might surprise some to learn that the larger petrol engine can be mated to an optional 7-speed DSG automatic transmission in place of the standard, 5-speed manual 'box.

The Volkswagen Polo’s small, 1.2 engine is good for poodling around town but is lacking any 'spirit' under other circumstances. The "VW Polo" test car had a top speed of 98mph following a 0-62mph time of 16.1seconds, which is fairly leisurely.

Volkswagen Passat Europe First Drive Reviews

The Volkswagen Passat is not a glamorous car. A business commuter. A family workhorse. Volkswagen, the undisputed master of middle-class market domination, has shifted 15 million Passats on the basis of this sturdy reputation since the car was launched in 1973

Fortunately the seventh generation of the "Volkswagen Passat" pulls no punches. The freshening up continues inside though, where the car gets a revised dashboard, new trim finishes and a gently updated centre console. To say the Volkswagen Passat wafts is an overstatement, but the car does exhibit a whisper quiet sense of transit. With fleet sales likely to dominate the Passat's end-of-year figures expect the SE version to be the volume seller. The standard spec list adds iPod connectivity, a DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity and even a fatigue detection system.

The mainstream opposition from Ford and Vauxhall is certainly to be respected, but VW will be counting on the Volkswagen Passat superior interior quality and better refinement to snare the punters. That and the sterling reputation the model has for reliable, unflustered and inconspicuous service.

Beneath the new tinsel, the seventh-generation car remains a worthy testament to that mentality.
Visual ties between everyone else’s new Passat and the previous car are obvious. The daylight opening, with its BMW-like kink, carries over, and the wheelbase remains virtually identical. The new Passat's somewhat bulky front grille and lighting units evoke the Phaeton, as do the taillights. In Europe, the new car also is available as a station wagon called the Volkswagen Passat Variant.

Perhaps the most surprising is the extremely efficient BlueMotion, powered by a 103-hp, 1.6-liter turbo-diesel. Top speed is 139 mph, and the engine rips the car forward in any gear.
We also drove the 1.8-liter TSI, with a 158-hp gasoline engine coupled to a seven-speed dry dual-clutch gearbox, and it excelled, too. While it doesn't pull as strongly as the 2.0-liter diesel, we have no reason to doubt VW's modest claim of a 0-to-62-mph sprint in 8.5 seconds and its 137-mph top speed. Fuel economy is 33.6 mpg in the European cycle.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have a chance to drive the uplevel gasoline engines. VW offers the 2.0 TSI, with the 208-hp EA888 engine that's also used in the European GTI. The top-of-the-line model is the V-6 4Motion, with a 300-hp, 3.6-liter VR6, which transmits its power to all four wheels through the six-speed DQ250 wet dual-clutch transmission. This engine was heretofore confined to the Passat R36, a sporty derivative, which is now being killed off. "An R model has no priority" now, says VW engineering chief Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg.

Although the Passat’s PQ46 platform is essentially a variation of the Golf underpinnings, it doesn’t drive that small, instead feeling every bit the bigger car. The power steering is light but nicely weighted, there’s lots of grip, and the stability-control system executes its corrections so quickly that it usually preserves corner-exit speeds.

Volkswagen Amarok International Pick-up Award

Volkswagen Amarok has been named the International Pick-up of the Year 2011.

This accolade, awarded for the first time this year, was judged by the panel that decides the International Van of the Year awards.
It also has a maximum payload capacity of 1,057 kg and maximum towing limit of 2.8 tonnes.

The new Volkswagen Amarok has been honoured with the International Pick-up Award 2011.

On the Volkswagen Amarok success, the jury commented: ‘The new Volkswagen Amarok distinguishes itself by fantastic driving qualities, both on- and off-road. Set for launch in the UK in 2011, the Volkswagen Amarok boasts the largest load dimensions in its class with a load area of 2.52 m² (1,555 mm long, 1,620 mm wide, with width between wheelarches of 1,222 mm), a maximum payload capacity of 1,057 kg and maximum towing limit of 2.8 tonnes.

It has, as its type suggests, picked up the inaugural International Pick-up Award 2011. During the judging process, the Volkswagen Amarok was praised by the jury for its ‘effortless off-road abilities’, while its capacity on-road was judged to be the best against all other competitors.

‘The new Volkswagen Amarok distinguishes itself by fantastic driving qualities, both on- and off-road. It sets new standards in the pick-up category in respect to load capacity, payload, interior room, comfort, ergonomics and fuel consumption.’ High praise, indeed.

2011 Volkswagen Jetta overview

The cabin tech interface in the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta SEL looks good and is easy to use. The Bluetooth phone system offers dial by name through voice command. The manual transmission only has five gears, and the engine feels short of the claimed 170 horsepower. The navigation system lacks advanced features.

The 2011 Volkswagen Jetta SEL makes for decent, if unexciting, transportation and includes a good suite of cabin electronics.

Volkswagen previously priced itself above its intended market, but wants to regain the title of peoples' car with the all-new Jetta. At its very base S trim, the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta can be had for $15,995.
Our Jetta SEL review car looked like a very good value, even at that price. For one, its navigation and Bluetooth phone systems are standard.
On paper, the 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine sounds quite powerful.
The EPA ratings for the Jetta SEL are 23 mpg city and 33 mpg highway. Nav and Bluetooth, standard
Surprising is Volkswagen's decision to mostly do away with options and make cabin tech dependent on trim level. The SEL trim car comes standard with navigation, Bluetooth phone system, and digital audio sources.
Legroom is now a class-leading 38.1 inches, a 2.7-inch gain from the previous model.
Upgrading to the SE trim will add a 2.5-liter engine, 16-inch wheels, V-Tex leatherette seating surfaces, body-colored side mirrors with integrated turn signals, a chrome interior package that accents the rotary light switch, bezels for air nozzles, HVAC controls, parking brake and steering wheel emblem.
The new Jetta also sees the return of Volkswagen's 115-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder powertrain as its base engine, while the previously standard 170 horsepower 2.5-liter five-cylinder will be on the options list. The TSI and TDI engines get VW's advanced six-speed DSG automatic.

2011 Passat as the 7th Generation model

Volkswagen has just unveiled and released details of the next generation 2011 Volkswagen Passat at the Paris Motor Show. The 2011 Volkswagen Passat takes on a more mature design, which Volkswagen says was styled on the Volkswagen Phaeton luxury car. Inside, the new Volkswagen Passat gets redesigned seats, interior door trim panels and all new dash surfaces and trimming. On the technology front, the 2011 Passat also comes with Park Assist 2 which claims to not only parallel park through the use of automatic steering, but the car can also find its way into a perpendicular car park.

Though there are not any great changes made compared to the earlier Passat, Volkswagen has christened the 2011 Passat as the 7th Generation model.

A smart new feature with which VW has equipped 2011 Passat is the Automatic Distance Control System. Rushlane expects VW to launch 2011 Passat by June 2011 in India.

The name will be announced at the car’s unveiling, and we’ve been told it will not be NMS or New Midsized Sedan.

2010 Volkswagen Tiguan Review

the 2010 VW Tiguan's appeal will depend on what your requirements are for a compact crossover and whether you think its higher quality is worth the higher MSRP.

The 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan is a compact crossover SUV available in S, SE, Wolfsburg Edition and SEL trim levels. The SE adds 17-inch wheels, foglights, heated washer nozzles, a power driver seat, heated front seats, upgraded cloth upholstery, a multifunction steering wheel, a trip computer, Bluetooth and an upgraded stereo with a six-CD/MP3 changer and auxiliary audio jack. The SEL starts as an SE with the Leather package and adds 18-inch wheels, automatic bi-xenon headlights, automatic wipers, an auto-dimming mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control and a premium Dynaudio stereo.

Every VW Tiguan is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 that produces 200 horsepower and 206 pound-feet of torque. All trims come standard with front-wheel drive, while 4Motion all-wheel drive is optional on the SE and SEL. With all-wheel drive, the Tiguan returns 18/24/20.
Standard equipment on the VW Tiguan includes antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags. Rear-seat side airbags are optional.
the VW Tiguan 4Motion came to a stop from 60 mph in 126 feet -- an average performance. In government crash testing, the 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan was awarded a perfect five stars in all front and side crash categories. In keeping with Volkswagen's reputation for upscale cabins, the interior of the Tiguan boasts high-quality materials and tight-as-a-drum build quality. The rear seat also slides fore and aft to improve either rear legroom or cargo space.
With all the seats in use, the VW Tiguan offers a maximum of 16.6 cubic feet of cargo capacity, about the same as a large family sedan's trunk.

In corners, the VW Tiguan body remains poised. Most compact SUVs tend to skate over rough surfaces, but the Volkswagen Tiguan remains firmly planted while tracking steadily. The 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan's electromechanically assisted steering does a decent job of imitating a traditional hydraulic setup.

The 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan ranks 5 out of 24 Affordable Compact SUVs. A blend of the words "tiger" and "iguana," the interestingly named VW Tiguan is a sporty and appealing entry within its class. Its German driving dynamics and upscale feel set it apart from other SUVs, but its steep base price, low fuel economy and below-average cargo space detract from its appeal.
With a starting price around $23,000, the VW Tiguan is one of the most expensive SUVs in its class. "Tiguan's prices are higher than most compact sport-utility competitors," writes Consumer Guide. In a class where many SUVs net 30 miles per gallon or more on the highway, the Tiguan’s fuel economy just can’t keep up. Its base rating, 19/26 city/highway, is one of the lowest in the class. If you’re willing to go without the
