New 2011 Honda Odyssey
The 2011 Honda Odyssey is fully redesigned with a fresh look inside and out. Improved fuel economy and a second-row bench that accommodates three child safety seats are also part of the 2011 Odyssey redesign.
Should you wait for the "2011 Honda Odyssey" or buy a 2010 Honda Odyssey? If you’ve got an immediate need for an eight-passenger family vehicle, consider a 2010 Odyssey.
The 2011 Honda Odyssey gets an all-new body that tries mightily to inject some spice into the minivan formula. Honda calls these people “hesitaters” and hopes the 2011 Odyssey’s sleek new look makes minivan ownership palatable to them.
Honda designers say minivans look most generic when viewed from the side. Wheelbase remains at 118.1 inches. Returning higher up the line will be the 2011 Honda Odyssey Touring, with the 2011 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite designated the new flagship model.
Honda confirms the "2011 Odyssey LX" will have two second-row bucket seats for seven-passenger capacity. All other 2011 Odyssey models will again seat up to eight, a capacity matched among minivans only by the Sienna. The outgoing Odyssey’s second-row seat accommodated up to two child seats. On the 2011 Odyssey, the second-row’s middle section can slide forward for better access to your kid from the front row.
Is it true that you should generally stay away from purchasing the 1st year of a redesigned model? It seems that the captains chairs on 2011 odyssey can no longer be placed together. Can someone verify this?
Honda is being stingy with details about its "new 2011 Odyssey minivan". Wider, Lower, Longer
Designed and engineered wholly in North America, the 2011 Odyssey is both wider and lower than the outgoing model. The track goes up 1.4 inches while overall height drops 1.6 inches. Honda calls the new Odyssey's look an example of "Lightning Bolt Design." No cleverly hiding that track in the base of the side glass for Honda.
Again, there's no word from Honda about horsepower and torque ratings. Honda has, however, let out preliminary EPA fuel mileage ratings for the 2011 Odyssey of 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
