2011 Jeep Wrangler-Chrysler Confirms New V-6

During the third-quarter sale announcement, Sergio Marchionne, Chrysler Group’s Chief Executive Officer, confirmed that the 2012 Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited will get a new 3.6-liter V6 powertrain, We can expect the company’s new engine to offer anywhere between 283 hp (2011 Grand Caravan) to 305 hp (2011 Dodge Challenger), depending on the vehicle

Marchionne also went to great length to mention that the previously-announced new small Dodge car will not come in a hatch form but rather as a sedan, arguing that hatches tend to be less popular with American customers-- The new sedan will be based on parent-company Fiat’s platform that serves the new Alfa Romeo Guiletta-- In the same sales call, Marchionne also talked in-depth about Dodge’s upcoming small car.

Marchionne said the Dodge sedan will specifically be based of Fiat’s new compact platform, which underpins the new Alfa Romeo Giuletta-- One other nugget from the sales call included Marchionne’s thoughts on the versatile Jeep Grand Cherokee platform, which will also underpin the new 2011 Dodge Durango
