2011 Mazda RX-8 Overviews
The 2011 Mazda RX-8 sports car is currently the only production car to utilize a rotary-powered engine, which when paired to a sport-tuned suspension provides nimble performance for all the twists and turns you can handle.
The rear-wheel-drive" 2011 Mazda RX-8" is offered in Sport, Grand Touring and R3 trim levels and is powered by a 212-horsepower, 1.3-liter Renesis rotary engine which is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. A sport-tuned suspension and torque sensing limited-slip differential (manual transmission) come standard for optimum handling. Competition to the 2011 Mazda RX-8 includes the Mitsubishi Eclipse and Nissan 370Z
The 2011 Mazda RX-8 is as sleek as they come. The RX-8 also features rear-hinged doors that open opposite of the front doors to allow easier access to the back seat. Standard safety equipment includes antilock brakes, front-seat side-impact airbags, and side curtain airbags.
The 2011 Mazda RX-8 has impressive handling dynamics and a roomy backseat, but loses points for its lack of low-end torque and fuel-thirsty, high-maintenance rotary engine.

A 232 horsepower rotary engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, while six-speed automatic equipped cars get 212 horsepower. Standard safety features include front and side-impact airbags for the front occupants, curtain airbags front and rear, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, stability control with traction control and tire pressure monitoring.
